

The global Alliance for vaccines and Immunisation(GAVI) high level mission to Nigeria took time out time to visit the Aleyita primary health care CENTRE in Kabusa ward of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).


The visit was aimed at observing integrated routine Immunisation (Covid 19/HPV and optimized Maternal Newborn Newborn and Child health week implementation as well as to interact with health care workers on active case search, vaccine management practices and other cold chain investments, participate in vaccinating children with oral polio vaccine.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration through the FCT Primary health care board is committed to improving to quality and access to health care through Primary health care, while the World Health Organization (WHO) is collaborating with the Nigerian Government is providing technical assistance and support for integrated health services.


FCT emerged second runner up position among the 36 states in Nigeria during the FIPV+nopv campaign in September 2023, while FCT was also the second runner up among North Central states in Leadership challenge Award aimed at improving primary health care services, joint project of Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the Dangote Foundation, UNICEF and National primary health care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
