FCTA COMMITED TO DEVELOPMENT OF PRIMARY HEALTH CARE- Babagana Adam

The permanent Secretary of Health services and Environment Secretariat Dr Babagana Adam has reiterated the FCT Administration’s desire to improve the state of primary health care delivery in the Territory.
Dr Adam disclosed this a meeting with management staff of FCT primary health care board during his working visit to the board. He said that primary health care is the bedrock of health care services, which therefore requires every attention to make it work.
The permanent Secretary charged staff of the FCT Primary health care board to always be proactive and diligent in the discharge of their duties, warning that the success or failure of the board largely depends on the staff.
Dr Adam further said that the FCT Administration was in a hurry to see positive changes in the administration of health agencies in the FCT due to the critical nature of health care in the Territory. This he said may result in joggling of staff for effective service delivery.
The FCT primary health care board, Dr Adam noted is in dire need of office adequate and befitting office complex, and decried the board’s present situation where it shares offices with other federal and FCT agencies. He further advised the management of the board to be more persistent in their drive to get a befitting office and promised to be paying regular, unscheduled visits to the board in order to ensure effective service delivery.
Earlier on , while welcoming the permanent secretary, the Acting executive secretary of FCT Primary health care board Dr Ruqayya Wamako thanked the permanent secretary for special interest in the board and his constant effort towards ensuring that the board achieves it’s statutory mandate.
Dr Wamako made a power point presentation of the board’s present office structure as well as proposed remodelled building and appealed to the permanent secretary not to relent in his assistance to the board in getting a befitting office.
